Distinctive Garden Tour
Thank you to all the participants for touring the lovely Red Bank garden on Brown Place on September 20, 2025. Michael-Paul and Jaime were generous hosts and shared their experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm—not to mention treats from their garden to eat and drink! They dedicated many hours on a beautiful day to inspire and edify us.
Wake Up Your Yard With Native Plants!
On October 23, 2025, participants learned how to make a real difference to the future of biodiversity simply by planting the right plants. Kim Rowe shared how:

native plants sustain moths, butterflies, and by extension, birds and other wildlife.

to select and use native plants to literally bring one's garden to life!

native plants can be used in suburban landscapes.

cultural practices can maintain a desired look while still providing a viable wildlife habitat.
Eco-friendly Garden Maintenance
November 5, 2025, Jon Gibbons offered practical strategies to transform any yard and garden, whether traditionally landscaped or already eco-friendly, into a thriving habitat for wildlife and pollinators. Beyond creating sustainable landscapes, Jon showed how to preserve and enhance local environments while maintaining soil nutrients and reducing both maintenance time and costs.

Each year, all of the communities participating in Patchwork for Wildlife highlight newly recognized homeowner yards that qualify as Entry Level, Beneficial, or Distinctive. The December 2, 2025 event was recorded and available on YouTube. Current participating communities are Red Bank, Belmar, Lake Como, Point Pleasant, and Point Pleasant Beach.
